The Fakebook (aka Facebook) Pandemic

Saw a documentary about social media and the perils they impose on its users, one mainly invasion of privacy. It is quite ironic that Mark Zuckerberg created fakebook to phish for information by all means (written or audio) from millions of people worldwide, yet when it came to his segment on the documentary, he refused to talk to the man behind the camera unless he be “off-camera.”

It pains me to see most of the people I know have succumbed to the fakebook trap. I once was afflicted by the same narcissistic symptom but made a conscious decision to unplug since facebook, and I would say this candidly, was literally aiding to feelings of gloom and its ability to pry unholy feelings of envy which stemmed from superficial posts of people I know and used to know. Wouldn’t we all want people to see us in a positive light? Who’d want to post they are in the brink of a nasty divorce or have lost the will to live? Not that I was ever in such a dilemma but just to make a point. Seriously…

Facebook is an invasive machination that aids and abets in exacerbating a person’s narcissistic tendency. In 2 Timothy 3:1-2, it states, “But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self,…” Besides Instagram, it has birthed the normalcy of excessive selfies. It actually sickens me to see it by the hour. Makes me think about the real motive. Does fishing for likes and validation of self worth resound?

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that we are living in the last days. It is not the end but we are leaning towards the cusp of the end which no one will ever know when.

Then there is the manipulation of emotions as referenced on this forbes article regarding the experiments they have covertly conducted on their users. We are saturated by disinformation in the media. Must they toy with what little bit of real-time semblance of “reality” there is that’s left?

This is the real facebook: “Let me grab my phone/camera. I need to make my contribution in making the rest of the world think ‘everything is awesome.'”

And, this is barely even scratching the surface of the real evils of facebook… I’ll leave that up to you to do your own research. The truth may scare you.
