The Good Book & Bad Situations

What is happening to Dr. Simone Gold is an eye opener for every American that the freedom loving country we used to know is no more. The most touching part is that even though she is a doctor and a lawyer, the regime is bent on sending scapegoats and political dissidents to jail reminiscent of what is prevalent in Communist regimes.

If they can do this to her, how much more to anyone who disagrees with the narrative? While people like Dr. Simone Gold has more to lose by being canceled, it makes me appreciate the high position of being a nobody (in the world’s eyes anyway). Thankfully, a person’s worth is determined by God alone. To Him, every person is worth saving. To people in high places, life is worthless. Though some hide in the guise of benevolence and invoke the eradication of diseases and end world hunger, the very same people advocate for a drastic culling of the population by deliberately creating the famine.

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:6-8 NIV

It is quite sad to see America being swallowed up by a dark shadow of Communism, but it is one that has been years in the making, enabled by political actors who are bought by the highest bidders. In the midst of all the chaos, we can be saddened about the current state of our country, but we don’t have to wallow in misery because the One in us is greater than any force and circumstance there is in the world.

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Matthew 6:34 NIV

Most of the Psalms, the minor prophets, Lamentations, the Epistles and the Book of Revelation were written when believers were going through tough times, when they were in hiding from political figures, captivity and being in jail. It is a book that is guaranteed to guide us especially at this time.

The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him,
    to the one who seeks him;
26 it is good to wait quietly
    for the salvation of the LORD.”

Lamentations 3:25-26 NIV

Unfortunately, there is a concerted effort even from professing believers to discourage fellow believers to apply words of comfort and hope and render it inapplicable for modern-day Gentile believers. You can be sure that only wolves will have no problem claiming to be followers of Jesus while at the same time, dismantle the authority of Scripture.

There is peace… in Jesus Christ.

“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Romans 8:31 NIV
