When Brighter Days Delay

Yesterday marked the first day of Spring. I look at the extended weather forecast and all it shows me is the expectation of constant gray and so I am trekking back to the last sunny day I have experienced here, which I gotta say, when the sun is not hidden in a shield of gloom, it truly is beautiful out. About 2 weeks ago, I heard there were only seven days of sun in OR since October in the news, make that eight actually. The sun did peek out last Sunday. Can you believe that?

My son enjoying the sun
My daughter looking at her brother as he skates away
And some say this came about not by design?
Thriving in the midst of harsh elements

This dandelion reminds me there are those who withstand and thrive even in an onslaught of ridicule and contempt.

Today’s verse of the day serves to remind us all.

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

Jeremiah 17:7-8

  1. 8 days of the sun in Oregon, wow such sadness. One thing for sure that would do, it would make a dark person lighter and a white guy whiter.

    1. Hehe. For sure amigo.

  2. There can be an answer to Oregon’s problem with no sun. When the sun would not come out do a Joshua prayer, where he prayed that the sun would go down and God listened to him.

    1. Good idea. You might encourage the “name it and claim it” folks with that though lol. 🙂

  3. I tend to shun the sun at times here in Nevada…I know. Not good. But in the Summer time and even early Spring it gets hot outside…and with no major body of water nearby it sucks!
Which leads me to the Jeremiah verse…lol

    1. No coast? Shucks that does suck. It’s at least not humid no? This apt. has no central AC so I’ll be looking forward to night sweats. I cringe at the thought of that. Thankfully hot days won’t be prolonged throughout the whole year like FL. Which verse exactly?
